[# Sample 1]: Essay on Transportation (290 words)
Transport, or transportation, is a system for carrying goods or
people from one place to another using vehicles or roads.
Previously, people used to move on foot to find food and land.
These days, people move to trade, explore, and for pleasure. There are mainly
four kinds of transport: road transport, rail transport, water transport, and
air transport.
Road Transport: Road transport began as footpaths. As people
started walking along the same path, they widened it and tried to make it short
and straight. Later, after the invention of wheels, the roads were made wider.
These days, roads are widely used to drive cars, buses, and trucks along.
Water transport: travelling on water is one of the oldest forms
of transport. People used dry wood or logs to travel up and down the river.
Later, various kinds of boats and ships were made to carry people and cargo
from place to place.
Rail transport: After the invention of the steam engine,
passenger railways began. After that, goods and people are carried by trains.
Air transport: After their inventions, airplanes and helicopters
began to fly in the sky. Nowadays, they have become an everyday need to carry
goods and passengers.
Transport has helped in development work a great deal. Modern
physical development in the world is only due to transport. Moreover, transport
has made the world a global village. Above all, the main achievement of
transport is that it has made world trade possible. It has also made it easier
for people to travel from one country to another for a variety of reasons such
as migration, vacation, study, or refugee settlement. Therefore, we cannot
imagine the present world without transport, although it is one of the major
causes of pollution.
[# Sample 2]: Essay on English Language and Its Importance (317 words)
Transportation
means the way of traveling from one place to another through different routes
like airways, railways, ropeways, water transport, and road transport. Because
our country is landlocked, water transportation is impossible. It is a
mountainous country, so railway transport can't be commonly used. It seems to
be very expensive in preparation and construction. Air transport is used in our
country, but it is unaffordable (entre) to most Nepalese citizens. Most people
in Nepal depend on road transport, which is used by every citizen of our
country. As a result, road transport is extremely important in Nepal.
Our country is mountainous. It has great
problems making roads. Despite these problems, some roads have been built. Some
important roads are Mahendra Rajmarg, Tribhuwan Rajmarg, Amiko Rajmarg,
Prithivi Rajmarg, and others. Some other roads are also available here. Some
proposed roads are under construction. Different things are carried through
these roads for the daily use of our people. If it is blocked, it creates a lot
of problems.
There are some areas in our country where
roads have yet to be built. Without making tunnels, we cannot make a road
through these mountains. Making a tunnel is very expensive for our government,
so we have to depend on air transport. Road transport is the cheapest and
easiest means of transport, too.
It is a pity that road transport is currently
being disrupted here and there due to a strike. It misbalances our
transportation system. The government also does not pay attention to clearing
the blockage. Thus, the supply of necessary things is hampered.
In this way, we see that road transport is of great importance in our country. We can never neglect it. If it is stopped or any obstacle comes in front of it, it should be driven away. Our government should try to increase the number of roads so that some inaccessible places can also be connected.
