Sample 1]: Essay on Pollution (245 words)
Pollution is
the loss of the natural qualities of water, air, soil, etc. In other words,
pollution is the process of making natural aspects of the environment like
soil, air, and water dirty or impure. The element or substance that makes them
bad or dirty is called a pollutant.
There are
different kinds of pollution. The major ones are: water, air, soil, noise, and
light pollution. The landslides, garbage, drains, and sewage from homes,
hospitals, industries, and factories are the main sources of water pollution.
These things contain harmful chemicals. They mix with water, and the water gets
polluted. Similarly, the air is polluted due to smoke and gases from
combustion, vehicles, industries, and dust from construction work. Likewise,
soil gets polluted because of deforestation, chemical fertilizers,
insecticides, pesticides, plastic bags, and dumping sites. The unwanted sound
we have to hear is noise pollution, and the unwanted dazzle of light we have to
face is light pollution.
Pollution,
which is in fact a physical, chemical, and biological change in natural
objects, is very harmful to living beings. If the essential environmental
components lose their quality, all living beings are sure to lose their
survival. All the troubles we are facing are due to pollution.
However, the
root cause of pollution is the rapid growth of population and modernization. To
sum up, for the better quality and healthy life of any living being, the
environment must be in its natural state, and people shouldn't exploit nature.
