Christmas is
the greatest festival for Christians after Easter. It is celebrated throughout
the world with joy and happiness. It is celebrated on the 25th of December, the
day when Jesus Christ was born. A public holiday has been declared in Nepal so
that Christians can celebrate it happily.
Jesus Christ
was the person who tried to divert people towards love and affection. The
principle of Christ was "Love, even the enemies. Be kind to everyone, even
if they hate you. " This festival started in the memory of Christ—the
super human who was born in 1 AD in Jordan.
On Christmas
Day, people pray to God. Everybody takes part in the celebration. They decorate
their houses with flowers and Christmas trees. They sing special hymns
(carols). They also make the churches cleaner. People, especially kin, exchange
their gifts of love. They eat delicious meals. Children become much happier on
this day because they receive many things from Santa Claus.
To sum up,
Christmas is the symbol of love and kindness. So, it should be observed until
people love people.
