Farewell Summary by Federico Garcia Lorca
The poem
"Farwell" written by Federico
Garcia Lorca (फेडेरिको गार्सिया लोर्का) is about an acceptance (स्वीकार) to death that every individual
faces in his/her life. The poem also expresses the individual's interest to
continue living in the physical world (earth).
The word
'farewell' indicates the final leave of the world. It expresses the condition
of someone who is approaching death and is an old person. The speaker's longing
(आकांक्षा) to live indicates that he does not
want to die and enjoy the earthly pleasure (सुख).
The speaker
asks to let the balcony open when he dies so that he can see the little boy
eating oranges and the reaper harvesting the wheat. The speaker's wish shows
that this world is a very enjoyable place life here is real and we must enjoy
it.
